Earning her license with the Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) as a clinical social worker in 2017, Shonté served as both a foster family agency social worker and supervisor. Her contributions included supporting families and colleagues with providing and maintaining stable environments for foster children.

Shonté currently serves as a program supervisor with intensive mental health programs, i.e. Wraparound and IFCCS. Incorporating the Department of Mental Health policies as a tool, she guides her teams to utilize interventions that meet the needs of children and families.

Shonté delivers effective mental health care through person-centered therapy. When treating clients, she utilizes interventions based in cognitive behavioral and social learning theories to help clients identify, as well as process, issues that impact their well-being.
