The Five Primary Aspects of Personal Health

  • This refers to the condition of your body and how well it functions. It includes factors such as exercise, nutrition, sleep, and avoiding harmful substances.

  • This pertains to your emotional well-being, including your ability to manage and express feelings in a healthy way, cope with stress, and maintain positive relationships.

  • This involves your interactions and relationships with others. It encompasses your ability to build and maintain supportive social networks, communicate effectively, and participate in social activities.

  • This encompasses your beliefs, values, and sense of purpose in life. It involves finding meaning and fulfillment, connecting with something greater than yourself, and cultivating inner peace and harmony.

  • This relates to your cognitive well-being and intellectual pursuits. It involves staying mentally active, continuously learning and growing, engaging in critical thinking, and seeking out new challenges and experiences.

Recognizing that "well-being" spans across mental, physical, and emotional realms, it's crucial to acknowledge the key contributing factors along the continuum of wellness. This continuum comprises 14 classifications:
